What do you remember most of your tour guide at Machu Picchu?

When you go to Peru, the most visited destination is, of course, Machu Picchu in Cusco.  The ancient Inca citadel is located 4 hours from Cusco.  Most new travelers take a tour package that includes everything, but, if you like adventure and travel on your own; taking the train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes, and then the bus to Machu Picchu, could be a nice and fun ride to experience.
As soon as you get Machu Picchu, you will need the ticket to get in.  It is better to buy it in advance,  online, or at the Cusco Tourist Office (Consettur) . Keep your passport and ticket in hand for a quick access.  Better if you buy a bottle of water in Cusco, cause inside Machu Picchu it could cost up to S/.10 Soles (the Peruvian coin) approximately US$3.85.
Get a rain poncho, if you can.  Anyway, there are always sellers around to provide of that very useful accessory, because the weather in Machu Picchu is unpredictable. Wear light clothes and a warm jacket to be ready for frequent changes of temperature.
Inside Machu Picchu,  to get in to the detail and history of the ruins, there are plenty of guided tour groups, and you can join them if you agree it with the guide, for $20 dollars cost average.  The tour last for about 2 hours.
If come back to Cusco the same day keep an eye on your train ticket schedule to be sure of the available time to spend after the tour has finished.
Buses are available every 20 to 30 minutes, from Machu Picchu To Aguas Calientes bus Station.

- If you ever been in Machu Picchu - Peru and took a guided tour, probably you have an story to tell.  What do you remember most of it? And how good was the tour guide job?
